Girard, McKean and NorthEast CDBG

The Townships of Girard and McKean along with the Borough of North East are State CDBG “entitlement” municipalities who have requested that County Planning administer their respective programs. These municipalities are considered entitlements because they have a population of 4,000 or more persons and meet the minimum standards of physical and economic distress under the Federal Urban Action Grant Program. Each community’s annual allocation amounts to approximately $110,000. As with the County’s CDBG monies, the funds are to be used to address community development and/or housing needs which primarily benefit LMI persons.
