Transportation Improvement Program
Each MPO must develop and administer a Transportation Improvement Program (TIP), the region’s short range (4 year) investment plan, which prioritizes all transportation related projects within the constraints of federal funding to be received over that period. The TIP is also the first period of the State Twelve Year Transportation Program (TYP). The TYP is updated every two years through a public participation process held by the State Transportation Commission. MPOs, state and local elected officials, and residents are encouraged to submit project proposals and present testimony during the update periods.
2011 TIP PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD
The 2011 TIP process is underway and currently open for public comment. All residents are encouraged to participate in the process by attending an Open House on June 30, 2010 from 4:30PM to 6:30PM in the Blasco Memorial Library Admiral Room, located at 160 East Front Street, Erie, PA. Please use the links to below to access all of the documents related to the TIP.
All questions and comments may be directed to John E. Morgan, Erie County Transportation Planner.
